She smiles
all I see is bright blue
The sky and the waves
echo her eyes
Her laugh
is like a marching band
trampling through my bad mood
She is a twinkling star
come to life.
Her hand finds mine
such sweet, easy grace
A natural fit
A part of me returns
when she throws her arms around my neck
I forget my troubles
As I breathe her in
Her lithe, leggy, silly dances
fill quiet afternoons
her bubbly voice fills my heart.
She lives each moment
as if they’re all presents
to be unwrapped
She’s in constant motion
only forward
Careful so that nothing is missed
Each day is a collage
of fabric and tastes and joy
With my daughter
I will forever travel through fairy tales.
