Light in vain

Clarity is a soft wish
made by men with ties tied too tightly.

Where is the childlike faith
we had in flowering youth?

We’re painting ourselves
into a sterile corner,
with lay-Z boys and pop-top drinks
fizzing to drown out a din of inequity.

What about the miracle of touch
breaching pages of old rules?

Looking for light
is for gardeners and silly dreamers.

  1. “Clarity is a soft wish made by men with ties tied too tightly.” I love the way you worded this. I might know a lot of those men and it’s good to know someone else actually sees them with a like mind.
“What about the miracle of touch breaching pages of old rules?” What a beautiful way you’ve worded this. I can smell the pages of that old book. Thank you so much for this perfect read.
